Description

This advanced inorganic core-shell material features metal-organic framework encapsulated chondroitinase enzymes. The sub-micron architecture consists of active model chondroitinase enzyme proteins completely enclosed and immobilized within the porous structural coordination matrix of a crystalline metal-organic framework (MOF) core shell (such as a zeolitic imidazolate framework). This crystalline configuration shields the active multi-helical protein domains from rapid thermal unfolding, chemical denaturation, or premature proteolytic cleavage in open laboratory testing media, while restricting macromolecular self-aggregation.
