Properties
Description
This formulation provides nifedipine proliposomes (NP LPs) prepared as a dry, free-flowing granular matrix to optimize dihydropyridine stability. The structural framework consists of a water-soluble polyol or carbohydrate core coated with a thin lipid film containing the highly light-sensitive compound nifedipine. This solid-state configuration completely isolates the drug from light-induced oxidation and hydrolytic pathways. Upon standard hydration, the granules dissolve completely and self-assemble into a uniform colloidal dispersion of nanoliposomes.
