Description

This highly engineered multi-component formulation features paclitaxel magnetic long-circulating liposomes designed as a responsive, sterically stabilized tracking model. The complex structural framework consists of a stable phospholipid bilayer shell modified with polyethylene glycol polymer-lipid conjugates that accommodates the highly hydrophobic taxane diterpenoid paclitaxel within its interior lipophilic tail domain, while the central aqueous core encapsulates superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles. This configuration coordinates the magnetic nanoparticles near the polar headgroups of the lipid bilayer, introducing a strong response to external magnetic fields while the pegylated outer boundary provides a dense hydrophilic steric shield that completely prevents physical vesicle aggregation.
