Poly(acrylamide-co-maleic anhydride-β-cyclodextrin-co-sulfobetaine) (P(AM-co-MAH-β-CD-co-DMAPS)) hydrogels are zwitterionic supramolecular networks. The composition blends the host-guest chemistry of cyclodextrin with the anti-fouling properties of the sulfobetaine (DMAPS) group. The structure is highly resistant to non-specific protein adsorption and exhibits complex responsiveness to temperature and ionic strength.
