Properties
Description
These PEG-chitosan-curcumin polymer drug-loaded nanoparticles (PEG-chitosan-curcumin polymer drug-loaded nanoparticles) consist of an amphiphilic polymer complex featuring a chitosan backbone modified with poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) chains and loaded with curcumin. The matrix configuration relies on the PEG segments to provide steric stability while the hydrophobic domains securely hold the non-polar polyphenol molecules. It exhibits excellent colloidal dispersion and prevents the quick hydrolytic degradation of curcumin in aqueous media.
