Description

This highly engineered multi-cargo system features polyethylene glycol modified epigallocatechin gallate and curcumin co-loaded compound liposomes. The complex structural framework consists of a stable phospholipid bilayer shell that accommodates the hydrophobic polyphenol curcumin within its interior lipophilic tail domain and the water-soluble catechin epigallocatechin gallate within the central aqueous compartment, while the outer surface is modified with covalently attached polyethylene glycol (PEG) chains. This configuration introduces a dense hydrophilic steric shield that completely prevents physical vesicle aggregation, limits curcumin crystallization, and protects both natural antioxidants from rapid chemical oxidation in open aqueous media.
