Description

This formulation features polyethylene glycol surface-modified baicalin liposomes utilizing a sterically stabilized framework. The structural matrix incorporates the polyphenolic flavonoid glycoside baicalin directly into the central aqueous compartment and interfacial regions of a phospholipid bilayer, while the outer surface is integrated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) polymer-lipid conjugates. The integration of these specialized polymer-lipid conjugates modifies membrane packing density and introduces a dense hydrophilic steric shield on the outer boundary. This configuration prevents physical vesicle aggregation and shields the flavonoid structure from rapid chemical oxidation in open aqueous suspension.
