Description

This formulation features polyethylene glycol 2000 modified docetaxel long-circulating liposomes (PEG-DOC-LCL) utilizing a sterically stabilized framework. The structural matrix incorporates the hydrophobic taxane docetaxel directly into the hydrocarbon core of a phospholipid bilayer, while the outer surface is integrated with distearoylphosphatidylethanolamine-polyethylene glycol 2000 (PEG2000) polymer-lipid conjugates. The integration of these specialized polymer-lipid conjugates modifies membrane curvature and introduces a dense hydrophilic steric shield on the outer boundary. This configuration prevents physical vesicle aggregation and controls the passive crystallization of the taxane cargo in open aqueous suspension.
