Description
Perfluorohexane-loaded gold nanorod-encapsulated poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles (GNP) are hierarchical polymer-metal hybrid spheres consisting of a biodegradable PLGA matrix shell enclosing anisotropic gold nanorods and phase-shiftable perfluorohexane liquid cores. The internal structure is organized to allow vapor transition of the PFH liquid when activated by the photothermal heating of the encapsulated nanorods under near-infrared laser input. This product exhibits great physical structural stability and highly reproducible acoustic scattering variations during physical verification.
