This smart material incorporates pH-responsive drug-loaded nanoparticles fabricated from a smart acid-sensitive copolymer matrix. The internal composition changes its structural density dramatically when exposed to localized fluctuations in environmental acidity. Each nanosphere exhibits a sharp phase transition behavior that can be monitored through standard dynamic light scattering techniques.
