These scaffolds are composed of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (plga) reinforced with beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-tcp) nanoparticles. the inorganic β-tcp phase improves the mechanical stiffness of the fibers and introduces bioactive mineral components into the biodegradable polymer matrix. the resulting scaffold features a high surface area and a tunable degradation profile, used to study the interaction between minerals and polymers in synthetic environments.
