Description
Poly(n-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) thermosensitive hydrogels are the archetypal responsive polymer networks. The composition consists of NIPAM units that undergo a sharp phase transition at 32掳C. The structure collapses and expels water rapidly above this temperature, serving as a fundamental model for investigating smart actuators and trigger-based systems.
