Description
Poly(n-isopropylacrylamide)/nano-silicon dioxide (PNIPA/nano-SiO2) composite hydrogels are reinforced thermo-responsive materials. The composition involves the addition of SiO2 nanoparticles to increase the mechanical strength and deswelling rate of the PNIPA matrix. The structure is more robust than pure PNIPA and can withstand higher physical stress during the volume phase transition.
