Polydimethylsiloxane-gold nanoparticle composites (PDMS-AuNPs) are elastomeric hybrid materials consisting of monodisperse gold nanoparticles embedded or generated in situ within a flexible polydimethylsiloxane polymer crosslinked grid. The spatial arrangement of the particles within the polymer lattice dictates the overall optical transparency and conductive parameters of the film. This product exhibits high mechanical flexibility, hydrophobic resilience, and stable colorimetric changes under physical deformation.
