Polypyrrole-coated gold nanoparticles (Au@PPy core-shell nanoparticles) are structured nanomaterials consisting of a dense, metallic gold core surrounded by a uniform, conductive polypyrrole shell. The outer polymer coating prevents core agglomeration and provides an organic interface that stabilizes the system in diverse environments. This product features excellent electrical conductivity and distinct electronic transitions arising from both the metal and the conjugated polymer.
