Description

This process standard involves the preparation of doxorubicin-encapsulated lipid-stabilized microbubbles. The resulting microfluidic architecture consists of a gaseous core (composed of high-molecular-weight sulfur hexafluoride or perfluoropropane) encapsulated within a monolayer shell of phospholipids and pegylated lipids that incorporates the hydrophilic anthracycline doxorubicin hydrochloride via complexation or interfacial trapping.
