Quaternized chitosan composite hydrogels are permanently cationic polysaccharide networks. The composition features chitosan modified with quaternary ammonium groups, which enhances its antimicrobial potential and solubility in neutral pH. The structure is a highly stable gel with a positive surface charge suitable for adsorbing negatively charged molecules.
