Description

This product consists of ribavirin proliposomes formulated as a solid-state dry powder precursor matrix to stabilize a hydrophilic guanosine nucleoside analog. The structure is composed of microcrystalline sugar or polyol carriers that support a uniform layer of dehydrated lipids and the active antiviral agent ribavirin. This dry configuration completely prevents early chemical breakdown or leakage of the water-soluble nucleoside analog during extended laboratory storage. Upon contact with an aqueous buffer, the solid matrix dissolves instantly, allowing the components to spontaneously form small liposomal vesicles enclosing the compound.
