Self-healing poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-beta-cyclodextrin) (P(NIPAM-co-β-CD)) hydrogels are dynamic materials capable of autonomous repair. The structure utilizes host-guest interactions between cyclodextrin cavities and adamantane or similar moieties to reform broken crosslinks. This reversible composition allows the material to recover its mechanical properties after physical damage.
