Description

These sericin-coated sericin/mesoporous silica composite drug-loaded nanoparticles (Sericin-coated sericin/mesoporous silica composite drug-loaded nanoparticles) combine an inorganic silica framework with an abundant silk-derived hydrophilic protein. The structure consists of a mesoporous silicon dioxide core infused with sericin molecules, completely enclosed within an additional outer sericin coating layer. It displays unique moisture-retentive attributes and a highly biosensitive degradation profile regulated by proteolytic enzymes.
