Sialidase A from Arthrobacter ureafaciens, 51 kDa is a neuraminidase and releases a(2,3)-, a(2,6)-, a(2,8)-, and a(2,9)-linked N-acetylneuraminic acid from complex carbohydrates.
Unit Definition
One unit will catalyze the release of 1 µmole of p-nitrophenol from p-nitrophenyl-α-D-N-acetylneuraminic acid per minute at pH 5.5 at 37°C.
