Description
Silk fibroin/carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) composite hydrogels are all-natural protein-polysaccharide scaffolds. The composition combines the high mechanical strength of silk with the water-solubility and pH-sensitivity of CMCS. The structure is biodegradable and provides a stable platform for investigating the structural influence of silk proteins in hybrid gels.
