Silver nanoparticle-loaded dendrimer-modified polymer microspheres are hierarchical materials consisting of a micron-sized polymeric core sphere functionalized with highly branched dendrimer architectures that anchor small silver nanoparticles. The dense dendrimer branches act as spatial micro-pockets that prevent the migration and sintering of the active silver particles. This product displays an extensive external surface area combined with high catalytic and chemical reactivity.
