Description

This specialized formulation features small interfering RNA loaded cationic liposomes designed as an organic-inorganic gene-silencing model. The vesicular architecture self-assembles from a precise blend of neutral helper lipids (such as dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine) and cationic lipids containing quaternary ammonium headgroups, which electrostatically condense small interfering RNA (siRNA) fragments into a stable lipoplex matrix. The integration of these positively charged lipids introduces a high surface potential and strong electrostatic repulsive forces that completely prevent physical vesicle aggregation, establishing a reliable standard matrix for studying electrostatic interactions with anionic nucleic acid biopolymers.
