This formulation features targeted artemether liposomes engineered with an affinity surface to stabilize and map a hydrophobic sesquiterpene lactone endoperoxide. The structural matrix incorporates the compound artemether directly into the hydrocarbon core of a phospholipid bilayer, while the outer surface is functionalized with specific targeting ligands linked via polymer anchors. This surface modification alters the overall surface topography and membrane elasticity, preventing the rapid crystallization and phase separation of the endoperoxide cargo in open suspension. The resulting vesicles exhibit high colloidal stability and a highly uniform spherical morphology.
