Description

This highly complex multi-phase system features luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone analogue targeted paclitaxel-loaded liposome-microbubble conjugates. The structural framework consists of lipid-stabilized gaseous microbubbles whose outer monolayer shell is covalently linked to sub-micron drug-loaded phospholipid vesicles, which are dual-modified with specific luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone analogue (LHRHa) targeting peptides and encapsulate the hydrophobic diterpenoid paclitaxel. This complex assembly coordinates a dense target-mimetic ligand array with the high acoustic resonance parameters of a gas core and the micro-encapsulation barrier of a lipid bilayer, preventing gas dissolution and taxane crystallization under ambient laboratory conditions.
