Description

This formulation provides voriconazole long-circulating liposomes configured to encapsulate a hydrophobic triazole antifungal agent within a sterically stabilized framework. The structural matrix incorporates the lipophilic compound voriconazole directly into the hydrocarbon core of a phospholipid bilayer modified with polyethylene glycol conjugated lipids. This configuration prevents the rapid crystallization and phase separation of the triazole structure in open aqueous suspension while introducing a protective hydrophilic steric barrier on the outer boundary. The resulting vesicles exhibit high colloidal stability and a narrow sub-micron size distribution profile.
