Description

Mesoporous silica nanoparticles whose internal pore walls or outer frameworks are covalently linked with aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens, e.g., tetraphenylethylene derivatives). Unlike traditional dyes that quench upon concentration, these AIEgens become highly fluorescent within the restricted, rigid porous silica paths due to the restriction of intramolecular rotation (RIR).
