This core-shell material features a face-centered cubic gold core encapsulated within a crystalline cuprous oxide (Cu2O) shell, surface-functionalized with an organic monolayer terminating in primary amino (-NH2) handles. The amine handles generate a positive surface charge density across neutral environments for downstream chemical coupling, while the underlying metal-semiconductor core maintains active electronic junctions.
