Cell Surface Tetraantennary Type N-glycan Glycoengineering Service

Cell Surface Tetraantennary Type N-glycan Glycoengineering Service

Cell Surface Tetraantennary Type N-glycan Glycoengineering Service at CD BioGlyco

Cell surface N-glycans have the potential to modulate virus-host interactions. Therefore, the analysis of N-glycans has a wide range of functional and immunological implications, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic significance for viral infections. At CD BioGlyco, we use a glycoengineering system as the core to analyze the various physiological functions of cell surface tetraantennary N-glycans.

  • First, we offer editing and modification of cell surface tetraantennary N-glycans. We use a versatile, non-traceable glycan modification method for selective editing and modification on the cell surface. We customize the structure of glycans by bioregulation of enzymes in a protein-selective glycanase system. In this, the tunable enzyme activity is combined with cell surface ligand recognition selectivity to minimize unwanted glycan editing perturbations and achieve precise temporal control of editing events.
  • Then, we offer N-glycosylation analysis of cell surface tetraantennary type N-glycans. N-glycosylation specifically occurs by the transfer of a lipo-linked oligosaccharide species (Glc3Man9GlcNAc2-pp polyphenols) to asparagine residues on newly synthesized polypeptide chains. Proteins targeted for secretion or membrane insertion are translocated to the endoplasmic reticulum during translation via a 15-30 amino acid signal sequence consisting primarily of hydrophobic amino acids. The newly synthesized protein enters the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum where it is subjected to co-translational folding and N-linked glycosylation.
  • Finally, we also provide analysis services on the effect of tetraantennary type N-glycans on the spatial conformation of proteins and explore the role of glycan structure on the recognition of molecules with each other. The processing of N-glycans is involved in the folding of nascent peptide chains and maintenance of the spatial conformation of proteins, and the recognition and binding of receptors and ligands also require the involvement of cell surface glycans. We also compare the roles produced by tetraantennary N-glycans in living organisms with those produced by other types of N-glycans and offer a full range of services to our clients.
