This metal-ceramic composite system features a refractory Cr-Ta-W alloy core protected by a Si-Ca self-healing phase and reinforced with nano-erbium oxide particles. The oxide dispersion refines grain boundaries and prevents oxygen diffusion at extreme temperatures.
