Properties
Description
This material features face-centered cubic silver nanoparticles surface-modified with an organic monolayer of the sulfur-containing ligand dithizone. The dithizone molecules attach to the silver facets through high-affinity coordinate and thiol-like bonds, creating a dense organic boundary layer rich in azo and hydrazo functional arrangements. This configuration establishes a highly sophisticated interface whose optical absorption properties and surface energy are exceptionally sensitive to coordinate interactions with trace heavy metal ions.
