SGI 1027, soluble in DMSO and insoluble in ethanol and water, blocks the addition of methyl groups to DNA by methyltransferases, impacting gene expression and genome stability. It targets DNMT1, DNMT3A, and DNMT3B.
SGI 1027 can be used to inhibit DNA methyltransferases for epigenetic studies.
