Description
This hybrid material features a hollow, porous face-centered cubic gold nanocage core whose open internal and external surfaces are decorated with crystalline manganese dioxide (MnO2) nanoparticles. This configuration combines the high-density electromagnetic hot spots and near-infrared absorption bands of the hollow gold frame with the distinct redox-responsive dissolution properties of the transition metal oxide phase.
