This material features a crystalline manganese dioxide (MnO2) matrix displaying a highly ordered mesoporous pore network, surface-functionalized to present an exceptionally high density of terminal hydroxyl (-OH) groups. The hydroxyl handles generate a strongly hydrophilic interface that alters fluid wetting dynamics and provides direct tracks for silane-coupling or esterification chemistry.
