N-Hexanoyl-biotin-disialoganglioside GD3 has a biotin unit linked to the amine of the sphingosine moiety through a hexanoic acid linker, and it can be used for ganglioside research. Although GD3 is not immunogenic, it can be used as an option for immune targeting human melanoma cells.
