Description
This hybrid material features a crystalline upconversion nanoparticle (UCNP) core capable of anti-Stokes near-infrared-to-visible optical transitions, surface-decorated with ultrathin crystalline manganese dioxide (MnO2) nanosheets. The MnO2 nanosheets act as a wide-bandgap optical absorber that modulates the underlying core's light emission profiles based on the redox-responsive dissolution of the manganese layer.
