Description

Core-shell amphiphilic polymeric nanoparticles encapsulating the highly hydrophobic chemotherapeutic agent paclitaxel (PTX) within a core of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), surrounded by a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG) outer shell. The PEG layer screens the hydrophobic PLGA core, minimizing the adsorption of opsonin proteins and evading detection by the mononuclear phagocyte system (MPS).
