Description
This core-shell material features a face-centered cubic gold core encapsulated within a crystalline cuprous oxide (Cu2O) shell, surface-encapsulated within a layer of linear poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) polymer chains. The PEG brushes form a flexible hydrophilic steric hydration brush that eliminates particle clustering, while keeping the underlying metal-semiconductor heterojunction stable against unselective aggregation.
