Description

This material features a macro-scale solid thermoplastic polystyrene (PS) polymer substrate whose external surfaces are decorated with a dense, uniform distribution of crystalline silver nanoparticles. The underlying solid polystyrene matrix provides structural support and rigid mechanical shape stability, while the surface-localized silver nanoparticle layer injects distinct localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) optical characteristics. This configuration alters the surface energy and light-reflection parameters without impacting the bulk mechanical traits of the underlying solid plastic.
