Description

These alkyl modified upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) are surface-treated with long-chain hydrocarbon molecules to ensure high dispersibility in non-polar organic solvents. The alkyl coating provides a hydrophobic barrier that stabilizes the particles against aggregation in oils and alkanes. The underlying rare-earth core provides bright upconversion luminescence when excited by a 980 nm laser.
