β-cyclodextrin functionalized PEI-coated Fe3O4 is a multi-component system consisting of a magnetic core, a Polyethylenimine (PEI) layer, and β-cyclodextrin molecules. The PEI provides a positive charge and high amine density, while the β-CD provides hydrophobic cavities for host-guest complexation.
