These 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-polyethylene glycol (DPPE-PEG) modified α-NaYF4,Yb,Er@NaYF4,Yb,Nd upconverting nanoparticles feature a complex core-shell structure and a lipid-polymer surface. The Nd-doped shell enables 808 nm excitation, while the DPPE-PEG coating ensures exceptional colloidal stability in water. This design combines the benefits of neodymium sensitization with a biocompatible polymer-lipid interface.
