Description

These fluorescein modified upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) are prepared by attaching organic fluorescein dye molecules to the surface of the upconverting core. This configuration can enable fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) between the UCNP core and the dye, resulting in a ratiometric signal. The combination of infrared excitation and visible dye emission provides a unique dual-spectrum optical probe.
