Description

These Hematoporphyrin Monomethyl Ether (HMME) modified water-soluble Upconverting Nanoparticles (UCNPs-HMME) are hybrid systems combining inorganic upconverting cores with organic photosensitizer molecules. The HMME molecules are attached to the nanoparticle surface to facilitate energy transfer from the UCNP emission to the HMME absorption band. This configuration allows for the generation of reactive oxygen species upon near-infrared excitation, which can be monitored in various laboratory chemical models.
