Description
These manganese dioxide nanosheet modified upconverting nanoparticles (MnO2@UCNPs) feature a thin MnO2 layer over the inorganic upconverting core. The MnO2 coating can act as an optical quencher that responds to specific chemical stimuli like glutathione or acidity. This design allows for the development of "off-on" fluorescent sensors where the luminescence is restored upon the degradation of the MnO2 layer.
