Description
These methylene blue (MB) conjugated sodium yttrium fluoride ytterbium thulium upconversion nanoparticles (NaYF4:Yb,Tm UCNPs) pair a thulium-doped inorganic core with a red-absorbing organic dye. The composition is engineered to ensure the blue and ultraviolet emissions of the thulium ions can be effectively utilized by the mb molecules. The structure is typically surface-modified with a polymer or silica layer to stabilize the conjugate and prevent dye leaching.
