Description

These poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) are composite materials where the fluoride phosphors are encapsulated or integrated with the PMMA polymer. The poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) matrix provides mechanical support, environmental protection, and a means to process the UCNPs into thin films or specialized shapes. These composites are used for research into the optical properties of lanthanide-doped nanoparticles within transparent thermoplastic hosts.
