Description

These upconverting nanoparticles-polyethylene glycol-merocyanine 540 (UCNPs-PEG-M540) are hybrid systems where the core is modified with polyethylene glycol (PEG) and the photosensitizer merocyanine 540 (M540). The upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) convert near-infrared light into wavelengths that overlap with the absorption spectrum of the M540 dye. This configuration is used for research into light-harvesting systems and the study of energy transfer between fluoride phosphors and organic dye molecules.
