Description
These water-soluble beta-phase sodium yttrium fluoride:ytterbium,terbium@beta-phase sodium yttrium fluoride (β-NaYF4:Yb3+,Tb3+@β-NaYF4) core-shell upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) are designed for high efficiency in aqueous solutions. The ytterbium/terbium doping allows for energy transfer that results in green emission, while the outer shell protects the excited states from water quenching. The surface is modified with hydrophilic groups to ensure a stable colloidal suspension.
